- Nature-based solutions for Alpine Climate action
- Abstract
This map summarizes highlights from a report of the Alpine Climate Board on nature-based solutions (NbS) in the Alpine region to address climate change impacts. Good practices related to NbS identify key success factors and challenges from eight pilot projects across multiple sectors. They emphasize the need for collaborative, cross-sectoral governance mechanisms, public-private partnerships, and a supportive legal framework to effectively scale NbS initiatives. Recommendations include integrating NbS into policy and planning frameworks, fostering public awareness, and establishing a dedicated Alpine-wide platform for NbS information and coordination.
