Title
Heavy metals measurement stations in the Alps (2018)
Abstract

Heavy metals (mercury, lead, arsenic, and cadmium) concentration levels are low and do not exceed the European limit values. However, although with reduced density, the monitoring of heavy metals is carried out throughout the Alpine region.
They are generally measured at background locations, except Austria, whose measurements are mainly oriented towards industrial sites. In Switzerland instead, additional monitoring of all these pollutants is part of the Swiss local networks. The layer shows the heavy metals measurement stations in the Alpine Convention territory in 2018.
